Introduction

Brian Sheil is an associate principal in the Insights for Innovation practice at Applied Marketing Science (AMS), where he helps organizations harness customer insights to inform critical business decisions and drive the development of successful products and services. With deep experience across financial services, industrial, and B2B markets, Brian leads complex qualitative and quantitative research engagements in both domestic and international settings, consistently translating insights into actionable strategy. He is passionate about empowering organizations to better serve their customers, utilizing a customer-centric approach to uncover insights that directly impact business outcomes.
 
As an associate principal, Brian manages the full research lifecycle: from study design and exploratory research through fieldwork, analysis, and executive-ready reporting. He is an experienced trainer and insights advisor, working with organizations to develop and strengthen their internal research capabilities, with particular emphasis on Voice of the Customer (VOC) programs.
 
A sought-after speaker, Brian has appeared at leading industry conferences and on popular webinar series, including the Insights Association North Atlantic Chapter Annual Conference and PDMA’s Innovation in Focus series. His engaging presentations span a range of topics, including VOC programs, the application of generative AI in market research, and building effective market research teams.
 
Prior to joining AMS, Brian honed his expertise at Logica Research, where he managed high-stakes projects across various sectors. There, he gained a deep understanding of market dynamics and go-to-market strategies.
 
Brian holds an MBA from Providence College, where he also earned a B.A. in political science with a minor in business studies, graduating magna cum laude.
